UMN Marine Biology Club Try SCUBA Night
April 2025
On Friday, April 4th, 2025, Midwest School of Diving and The University of Minnesota Marine Biology Club held a Try SCUBA Diving pool night for students. For this event I was the Divemaster and Underwater Videographer/Photographer alongside instructor Patrick Cosgrove and his son Brian Cosgrove for the students. This event was organized by the UMN Marine Biology Club President Malin Anderson and it was such an awesome opportunity to help out with this event.
Stout Catholic Try SCUBA Night 1
February 2025
On February 21st, 2025, I had the absolute pleasure of bringing up 6 students from StoutCatholic to try SCUBA Diving with Midwest School of Diving. Truly a fun way to share my love of SCUBA Diving with others and take some underwater videos/photos. They all did a fantastic job and we made some amazing memories. Thus I decided to create a highlight video of the experience. Thanks again Rachel, Izzy, Nick, Evan, Elias, and Jared for coming. I’m glad I was able to share my passion with you. I hope you all go on to get your Open Water certifications so we can dive again. With this group included, I have brought up a total of 11 students to Try SCUBA Diving.
DiveOne Square Lake Dive Tour
June 2024 - August 2024
In July 2024 I was contracted by DiveOne LLC to make an underwater tour video of Square Lake in Washington County, MN. DiveOne specializes in Marine Biology Education and hosting SCUBA Diving Trips. This lake is where most of the SCUBA Diving Shops of the Twin Cities Area conduct most of their courses including Midwest School of Diving which partnered with DiveOne. The purpose of this video is to give students a sneak peek of what they will encounter for SCUBA Landmarks and marine life in Square Lake during their SCUBA Certification Courses. It was a fun project in which I was able to combine the skills of Content Creation, Video Editing, and SCUBA Diving into one big package. To complete this project I used my GoPro Hero 10, a Magenta lens filter, an Underwater Camera Rig, and DaVinci Resolve. I also had help from two amazing Divers Malin and Kat to gather footage. I will be posting this video on my new website which is currently being developed. I hope you all enjoy this video and thanks to DiveOne for providing me with this rewarding opportunity. Also thanks to Malin and Kat for helping me gather the footage.

On Friday, March 7, 2025, I had the absolute pleasure of bringing up another 5 students from StoutCatholic to try SCUBA Diving with Midwest School of Diving. Truly a fun way to share my love of SCUBA Diving with others and take some underwater videos/photos. They all did a fantastic job and we made some amazing memories. Thanks again Elizabeth, Michelle, Jenna, Lance, and Andrew for coming. I’m glad I was able to share my passion with you. I hope you all go on to get your open-water certifications so we can dive again. With this group included, I have brought up a total of 16 students to try SCUBA Diving.
Midwest School of Diving Ice Diving Festival 2025
February 2025
On Saturday, Feb 1st, Midwest School of Diving hosted its 2025 North American Ice Diving Festival. Divers from all across the USA and around the world come to SCUBA Dive under the ice for this event. There’s also a huge social aspect of this event, making it even more fun. During the course of this event, I took pictures and videos for Midwest. It was a lot of fun and participating in this event every year is one of my highlights.
Ice diving is cold, but the clarity experienced underwater due to light refracting through the ice is amazing. I can personally attest to this; I completed my PADI Ice Diver certification in 2023, and it pushed me out of my comfort zone in a good way. If you ever visit Minnesota and love to dive, I highly recommend checking out the North American Ice Diving Festival through Midwest School of Diving. You won’t regret it.
